Update from Serve Baltimore
Mike and I were sitting in the coffee shop just the other day. Mike is
not a believer but has an interest in what we are doing as a church in
Baltimore. Mike is a successful CEO and we have connected over coffee a
few times over the past 6 months. This day I sat across from Mike as
his life coach. After wrestling through 3 core areas of business and
personal life to work on over the next few months Mike asked me a
question. He asked if a “care free” lifestyle or “peace” could really
ever be attained? The door was opened and I stepped through. By the
end of my passionate explanation of the Gospel he responded positively
and said he looks forward to more spiritual conversations during our
coaching. Mile is just one of the many stories where we are seeing God
work in Canton.
The last two months of the year bring a lot of activity: Pray for our
community thanksgiving dinner in the park. We have partnered with a
local rec center and another ministry to bring a meal to a few thousand
people surrounding our local park. There will be a week of preparation,
a huge community meal, and delivery to shut ins throughout the
neighborhoods surrounding the park. Please pray for opportunities to
share the Gospel through this experience. We are also working on an
adopt a family program for our local Head Start Academy which will
provide much needed household goods and toys at Christmas for 50+
families living below poverty in our community. This is a great
opportunity to continue in relationships we are all ready building with
many of these families. Christmas brings a lot of interst in Spiritual
things, so this Christmas Eve we are planning a celebration and telling
of the Christmas story to be held in the local square of our
neighborhood. Pray that the right doors open to make this event
happen. God is good, our community is growing closer, and we are having
a blast loving our community! Thank you for your prayers and support!
Cheers,
Jason & Carrie
